Catching up

Whoa. It’s been a busy, busy summer. I started a new job at a golf course and it’s a full time, seasonal position. Needless to say I haven’t had time to shower never mind update my blog. TMI?

Though I haven’t been writing about projects, I have been doing them. I have Mr. Listy McListerson to update as well as a couple of other small-ish projects I did throughout the summer that will be fun to share. Did I mention that my Listy McListerson room-remodel is el finito? Fin. Done. Whew! Lot’s of time, money, and love went into my room remodel and I’m excited to share the process/product with my blog! For now, though, I decided to share a small post that’ll catch the blog up on what I’ve been doing and why the heck I haven’t been posting. Not that I’m master poster otherwise.

I created this blog in order to share my projects with whoever seems to stumble over my blog, but more importantly for myself to look back on as well as to create some type of portfolio/practice for when I’d like to do this when I’m older and “grown up” (which technically is supposed to be one year from now but lets be serious and that sure ain’t happening considering I act 12 and still wear bras from 8th grade). Anyways…

To my future self or whoever reads this/cares, I’d like to get around to posting about all of the lovely things I’ve done over the summer sometime soon. I have a couple of days off this upcoming week, and I’d like to get my Nikon out and take some halfway decent pictures to share instead of scrambling through my iPhone to find half-assed photos that I may have posted on instagram. Not that I don’t love IG, of course.

For now, I’ll leave you with one of said iPhone pictures to create a nice cliffhanger for my next post..

LOL JK. I got that here

For reals..

Design on a Dime…maybe more like a penny…

I am currently a college student, and I think it may be safe to say I run a pretty tight ship when it comes to spending money. If i’m spending money, its on food, alcohol, food, room decor, food, and, oh…did I say food? I love food, but who doesn’t? But I really, really do love decor. Some of my favorite places to surf the web are design sites. I am moving into an off campus apartment and my room is slowing becoming my palace. I know it will always be a work in progress, because I will always want to add/tweak things, but It truly is my passion and I can’t wait to live on my own some day and design an ENTIRE house! Wow…the possibilities.

I’m going to school for Elementary Education and Journalism. Nothing like keeping options open, right? Long story short, my school only had the minor in education with an optional master’s program, so I had to pick a major I would maybe, possibly like if I decided teaching was not for me. And after all that, my passion really is interior decorating/crafting/and all around home design.

This is where I will post inspiration and my own DIY projects and how-to’s! Hope, if anyone reads this, you enjoy!
